Bet-at-home joint-MD Dickinger steps down
Co-founder of operator to be replaced tomorrow by Michael Quatember.

Bet-at-home co-founder and joint managing director Jochen Dickinger has announced plans to step down for “personal and private reasons,” according to a statement from the Betclic Everest Group component.
He had been with the operator – now part of the Betclic Everest Group – since founding it with fellow joint-MD Franz Ãmer in 1999, when Dickinger himself was just 24 years old. He will be replaced in his role tomorrow by Michael Quatember, the operator’s head of finance and accounting.
The 37-year-old oversaw the listing of bet-at-home on the Frankfurt and Vienna stock exchanges, while the Maltese-licensed operator also secured dot.country licences in Italy and Schleswig-Holstein during his and Ãmer’s tenure.
He and Ãmer have remained in charge since the incorporation of bet-at-home into the Betclic Everest Group (then known as Mangas Gaming) in 2009. In its recent half-year financial results the operator saw gross gaming revenue rise 19.8% year-on-year but it recorded a net loss of 3.3m.
The names of Dickinger and Ãmer are associated with an Austrian court case which culminated last year in a decision to uphold the monopoly of incumbent Casinos Austria, which operates the Win2Day brand in both its home market and Belgium.
There is no indication that Dickinger’s departure is in any way related to either this case or the recent Austrian High Court decision, which ruled that the Betclic Everest subsidiary would have to repay 950,000 to compensate a player for his online roulette losses. Bet-at-home is understood to be in the process of appealing the decision.
The bet-at-home board said in a statement: “The Supervisory Board would like to thank on behalf of the Company with Jochen Dickinger for his tireless efforts for the bet-at-home.com and wishes him every success in the future.”
