MGM set for Nevada online poker licence hearing
Operator could become first to receive recommendation from new chairman A.G. Burnett.

MGM Resorts Online is hopeful of becoming the latest operator to receive an online poker licence in Nevada, after being added to the agenda for the State Gaming Control Board’s (GCB) next meeting on 1 November.
Also on the agenda is Z4Poker LLC, which has applied for manufacturer and service provider accreditation. The company names Eric and David Colvin as shareholders, but has applied to the GCB “to grant options to Paul Christopher Zain to purchase interests [in the company].”
MGM is the second of bwin.party’s US-facing partners to be added to the GCB agenda, after Boyd Gaming obtained a recommendation from the board and was granted a licence by the Nevada Gaming Commission last week.
The land-based casino operator, which owns a number of Las Vegas venues including the Mirage and Excalibur casinos, won a legal dispute earlier this year which saw it gain control of a number of domains including MGMpoker.com and ExcaliburPoker.com.
November’s meeting will be the first to be held since A.G. Burnett took over from Mark Lipparelli as chairman of the GCB, and the first presided over by new GCB member Terry Johnson after his appointment earlier this month.
