New CEO for Veikkaus
Finnish operator brings in Juha Koponen from healthcare distributor Tamro Corporation.

Finland’s government-owned lottery and betting operator Veikkaus has appointed Juha Koponen as its new chief executive.
Koponen most recently served as CEO of Tamro Corporation, a healthcare and pharmaceutical distributor which serves the Baltic and Nordic markets and Poland.
He has also had spells as CFO of the group and managing director of Tamro Finland, while he also had a spell as director of finance and IT, Europe for multinational technology company PerkinElmer.
Veikkaus, which sponsors Finland’s national football league, recently became the latest lottery operator to deploy Betradar’s live odds service.
Two years ago it agreed to take on Playtech’s bingo offering as part of a deal which also saw poker and casino monopoly Ray go live with the software provider’s platform.
Koponen expressed his excitement at taking up the role, saying “I believe that the company is basically in good shape, and through continuous development and efficient operations we can further increase the benefit of the whole society.”
