Betfair launches freeplay casino in Canada
UK operator partners with Swedish developer Play'n Go for launch of casino site.
Betfair has announced plans to launch a freeplay gaming website in Canada in order to drive awareness of its casino brand.
The UK operator, best known for its market leading exchange betting offering, has teamed up with games supplier Play’n Go to launch the site, which is set to go live in the coming months.
Swedish developer Play’n GO specialises in gaming content for online websites, mobile phones, tablets and game terminals.
This year it has signed several deals to provide game content to operators, including the launch of Danish tourist attraction Tivoli Gardens‘ egaming site, and to provide Flash games for UK-facing operator Quicksilver’s online site and HTML5 products for its mobile offering.
Robert Skogh, business development Director at Play’n GO commented on the deal: “We are happy to be selected to provide Betfair with our complete casino content for this unique project. The games can only be played for fun but players still have to log in to play. We look forward to a successful cooperation and a long-term partnership with Betfair.”
Ashley Chase, games product manager at Betfair, added: “Betfair is and has always been a pioneering brand. We researched a number of games providers for BetfairCasino.net and Play’n GO was the clear winner. Play’n GO games and their attention to providing superior, unique gaming experiences are an excellent fit with our brand.”
Betfair relaunched its real-money casino site late last year, pledging to increase its offering to 180 games. The relaunch of the Playtech-powered casino has been accompanied by a big-budget advert starring two of the operator’s sporting ambassadors, cricketer Michael Vaughan and rugby player Will Greenwood.
