Playtech suspends Moore Games
Licensee found guilty by network of "material breach of network policy".
Moore Games, an operator on Playtech’s iPoker network, has been suspended by the software company following a “material breach of network policy”.
The Curaçao-licensed company, which is part of the Tain group of licensees on the network, had claimed in a statement seen by Pokerfuse that Playtech suspended it without explanation and that the network operator had withheld player funds.
However Playtech head of poker Roei Gavish has explained to eGaming Review that: “Playtech and iPoker have no access to players’ funds but we are working closely with our partners at Tain to ensure that players funds are safe and available for withdrawal.”
“With introduction of the latest policy update we are putting lots of effort to ensure the network rules are well respected in fair fashion by all its partners,” added Gavish.
The latest set of network rules were introduced by iPoker in June this year, with the current compensation for network skins due to come to an end at the end of this month.
Operators will then be split into a main and secondary liquidity pool for cash games, depending on whether they meet criteria including the maintenance of a player base of 6,000 monthly active players.
While Playtech has at no stage identified which skins are likely to end up in the main liquidity pool, eGR understands that Moore Games is not among those expected to feature.
Playtech is not the first network provider to suspend an operator for breach of policy in recent months, with Microgaming taking action against 5050poker in June. 5050poker has since seen its shares delisted from the Nasdaq OMX First North stock exchange.
