LGA suspends 5050poker licence
Operator had seen its contract with Microgaming network terminated this week.

The Maltese Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) has suspended the remote gaming licence held by Swedish operator 5050poker for undisclosed reasons.
Earlier this week the troubled operator saw its contract with the Microgaming Poker Network terminated following a “material breach”, according to its former poker supplier.
5050poker had joined the Microgaming network in 2009, but saw its licence suspended amid a dispute over reduced table-limits for players and claimed to have left of its own accord before Microgaming issued a statement on the termination of its deal.
eGaming Review is awaiting confirmation as to the status of 5050poker’s casino operations, provided by Tain. It is licensed in Curaçao for casino and sportsbook rather than Malta.
Despite revealing last week that its board had “Decide[d] to establish a balance sheet for liquidation purposes,” 5050poker had at the time still been considering “Making financial demands on Microgaming corresponding to the damage caused to the 5050 Poker.” A spokesperson for the company was unavailable for comment.
It is the second poker operator in the last two months to have its licence suspended or terminated by the LGA, after Purple Lounge. The MediaCorp subsidiary has also spent time on the Microgaming network, but was on the IGT Poker Network at the time of the termination of its licences and its subsequent liquidation.
Update 29 June: Curaçao authorities have confirmed to eGaming Review that 5050poker is also suspended there.
