IGT brings Da Vinci Diamonds to Double Down
Slot becomes supplier's first product to be rolled out over multiple platforms " mobile version to be released later in 2012.

International Game Technology has announced the launch of Da Vinci Diamonds, one of the supplier’s most popular online slot games on Double Down Casino.
The Nevada-based software provider, which received one of the first egaming licences to be issued in the state last night, first launched Da Vinci Diamonds as a terminal-based game in 2007. Due to its popularity has selected it as the first slot to be rolled out over multiple platforms, with a mobile version to be released later this year.
IGT’s executive vice president of emerging markets Robert Melendres commented: “Slot players around the globe have made Da Vinci Diamonds a fan favourite since the game first debuted in 2007. The game has been a breakthrough hit in interactive wager markets, since it is equally suited for both novice and experienced players.
“The game’s visual appeal, with features that allow for extended play and free spin bonuses, as well as the impressive 20-payline configuration, made it a prime candidate for DoubleDown Casino’s catalogue of virtual titles,” Melendres explained.
Since being acquired by IGT for up to US$500m in January this year, Double Down has grown to feature more than 20 games on Facebook, including branded slots based on the popular American Idol and Brady Bunch television shows, which has seen its monthly active users grow to 5.2m, up 10% on January’s 4.2m.
In IGT’s results for the three months ending 31 March 2012, company CEO Patti Hart revealed that the social brand was providing “accelerated growth” for the supplier.
Da Vinci Diamonds was developed by High 5 Games, which provides exclusive content for IGT, but is set to launch its own social casino later this year featuring a number of its proprietary titles. The slot is the first brand in H5G’s collection to be available for play on Facebook.
“With the well-received release of Da Vinci Diamonds on DoubleDown Casino, we are more encouraged than ever that our own social casino will be a resounding success,” said Anthony Singer, CEO of High 5 Games. “The social market is in need of real casino games to replicate the actual experience of playing slots. We are looking forward to filling that void.”
