Plumbee launches its first Facebook slot
Social games studio set up by former Playfish trio goes live with Mirrorball Slots.

Social games studio Plumbee, led by former EA Playfish marketing director Raf Keustermans, has beta-launched its first Facebook slot.
The London-based start-up, whose COO Gerald Tan and CTO Jodi Moran worked with CEO Keustermans at Playfish, has gone live with Mirrorball Slots following a $2.8m cash injection from French private equity investor Idinvest Partners.
Plumbee has also secured the services of Gaming Edge Associates’ Ben Fried and Anton Bell, with the former Betfair employees joining former Playfish studio GMs John Earner and Dan Fiden on its newly formed Advisory Board.
Keustermans said: “I am thrilled to be working with a myriad of talented and passionate experts. With a world class team and the backing of numerous solid partners, I am convinced that Plumbee is in a great position to gun for a leadership position in the social casino arena.”
He told eGaming Review that a number of social aspects added over the course of the coming weeks, while a mobile game would also be launched this summer, although he was keen to stress that “We won’t start running before we can walk.
“Speed to market is very important at the moment, as new products are being launched almost every day,” noted Keustermans, who hopes to increase Plumbee’s London-based team to 25 staff by the end of April.
The start-up has also announced a partnership with Quickspin, a Stockholm-based casino games developer set up by veterans of Unibet and NetEnt.
“We strongly believe that combining best of breed casino and best of breed social will create a fun and compelling experience for Facebook players,” said QuickSpin CEO and former NetEnt head of games product management Daniel Lindberg. QuickSpin co-founder Joachim Timmermans, who worked with Keustermans at Unibet, currently serves as a senior advisor to Plumbee.
