Poll: Which US state will be first to take a bet online?
With progress being made on a number of bills, which state will be first to take the plunge.

Last April, when the District of Columbia became the first American jurisdiction to legalise online gambling, many felt that it would encourage others to follow suit.
However last week saw the district’s council committee vote to repeal the legislation before it even got off the ground, citing a lack of transparency in the passage of the law.
Since then eGaming Review has exclusively revealed that a new bill in Iowa is set to be introduced in the coming days, after months of discussion and the publication of a report into online gambling in the Hawkeye State.
Meanwhile licence applications are flooding in as Nevada looks to push on with its gambling legislation, which has gathered pace since December’s Wire Act clarification. MGM and Boyd became the latest applicants, following on from their respective partnerships with bwin.party late last year.
In addition New Jersey Senator Raymond Lesniak continues to harbour hope of his state becoming “The Silicon Valley of online gambling” despite Governor Chris Christie vetoing his 2011 bill at the eleventh hour, while progress is being made in California, seen by some as the state best suited to a regulated egaming environment.
It seems certain that egaming legislation will pass this year, but which state do you think will be first to take a bet? Vote on the right hand side of this page or visit eGR‘s LinkedIn page.
