Microgaming appoints first NMB chairman
Gala Coral's former CEO to chair poker network management board

Former Gala Coral Group CEO Dominic Harrison has been appointed chairman of the Microgaming Poker Network’s Network Management Board (NMB), the company has announced.
The NMB, made up of representatives from Microgaming, Ladbrokes, Unibet and NordicBet, is designed to allow the service provider to work alongside operators to shape the development roadmap and operational rules for its poker network. It was formed last year to help reverse the poker sector’s decline, with Microgaming’s head of network games Lydia Melton admitting “radical change“ was required.
Harrison joined Gala Coral as trading director in June 2004 after two years as commercial director at Ladbrokes, and was made CEO in 2008 before stepping down in September 2010 following the completion of the group’s debt restructuring.
Commenting on his appointment, Harrison said: “When I was first approached by Microgaming about being the independent, non-executive Chairman for their Network Management Board, I knew it was a project that I had to be involved in. I strongly believe that the NMB is exactly what this industry needs, and I am very much looking forward to being an integral part of its success.”
