Unibet signs Danish football partnerships
Swedish operator becomes exclusive betting partner for football clubs FC København and FC Mitdjylland.
Unibet has signed deals to become the exclusive betting partner of Danish football clubs F.C. København (Copenhagen) and FC Mitdjylland.
The Swedish operator will sponsor stands at the stadia of the two clubs, placed first and third in the Danish Superliga respectively.
Unibet was among the 38 operators awarded an egaming licence in the newly regulated Danish market, while it also recently opened its dot.fr site for the first time and is believed to be considering a licence application in Belgium.
Kim Olesen, general manager of Unibet Denmark, said: “Unibet is focused on being a dedicated gaming operator in Denmark, so we are delighted to announce this partnership with two of the most ambitious clubs in Denmark.”
“Unibet wants to be the preferred online betting operator in Denmark and the cooperation with F.C. Copenhagen and FC Midtjylland supports our ambition and commitment in the Danish market,” added Olesen.
FC Midtjylland sports director Jens Ãrgaard described Unibet as “The closest thing you get to a perfect match” with his club, while F.C. København CEO Anders Hørsholt said: “Unibet has shown a particular interest and commitment to activate the sponsorship towards F.C. København’s fans both on and between match days.”
