Poll results - readers expect intrastate progress after Wire Act memo
58% of voters expect state-by-state progress following DoJ statement, while just 3% expect movement on a federal level.

The majority of eGaming Review readers anticipate December’s clarification of the Wire Act will see individual US states lead the way with intrastate regulation in the coming 12 months.
More than half (58%) of voters in this week’s poll predicted intrastate progress after it was ruled that the 1961 legislation only applies to sports betting, a stance arguably supported by the revelation yesterday that New Jersey Senator Raymond Lesniak has pledged to get a new egaming bill signed into law within the “first few weeks of the new session”.
However just 3% believe the DoJ statement will help speed up the progress of federal legislation, despite calls for a federal push from the Poker Players Alliance and last year’s introduction of new bills by Congressmen John Campbell and Joe Barton.
The remaining 39% of voters believe, however, that in a Presidential election year we are unlikely to see significant progress on either a federal or intrastate level as other issues take priority within the US legislature.
