Bet24 signs up Hougaard
DonkR partner and World Series of Poker bracelet winner arrives ahead of Danish market opening.
Danish poker pro Jesper Hougaard has signed up with Bet24 as a sponsored player ahead of his home country opening up its online gambling market.
A partner with poker Power Affiliate DonkR, Hougaard has also invested in egaming user-verification database EKYC, and is a former member of Denmark’s national table tennis team.
He is also one of only a small number of players to win bracelets in both the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE).
Hougaard told CardPlayer: “I can be a great ambassador to make Bet24.com the leading betting company and the natural choice for poker players in Denmark after the legislation.”
With the market set to open on 1 January, the Danish Gambling Authority told eGaming Review that it has been flooded with licence applications. The regulator is expected to announce the successful applicants later this month.
