Intertain picks up Danish licence for Vera&John and InterCasino
Operator pledges “aggressive” marketing campaign following regulatory approval

Intertain has picked up two Danish licences for its Vera&John and InterCasino brands, EGR Intel has learned.
The operator received approval from the Danish Gambling Authority last week, and told EGR Intel it was planning “to work closely with the Danish jurisdiction” for the launch of an “aggressive” marketing campaign.
“This licence means that we’ll be able to deliver a top-notch online casino experience to our Danish players, since we were previously limited in terms of how many services we could provide,” Intertain’s director of legal and compliance, Monroe Schmidt, said.
The verajohn.dk site is already live, having been active under a limited licence for the past two years, while intercasino.dk will go live “in the next couple of weeks”, according to Schmidt.
The Danish version of InterCasino had been deactivated in 2013 following changes in platform and ownership, but the company said the brand still holds a “lot of equity in the market” and will “resonate with seasoned gamblers”.
The licensure follows a busy period for Intertain, with the company withdrawing its brands from Australia in late December, and last week receiving final approval to list on the London Stock Exchange and rebrand to Jackpotjoy plc from 25 January.
