Ladbrokes crowned Operator of the Year at EGR Australia Awards
Operator also takes home Innovation of the Year award, while Sportsbet is the night’s other big winner with a trio of prizes

Ladbrokes was crowned Operator of the Year at yesterday’s EGR Australia Awards 2017, as Paddy Power Betfair-owned Sportsbet also took home a trio of awards at the prestigious event.
The London-listed firm’s Australia-facing business saw off competition from the likes of William Hill and bet365 to win the evening’s headline category, and was also awarded the prize for Innovation of the Year.
Sportsbet, which previously won Operator of the Year for two consecutive years, emerged victorious in three categories – Customer Services Operator, Marketing Campaign and Socially Responsible Operator.
Other big winners on the night included William Hill, which won Affiliate Programme and Mobile Sports Product, while CrownBet also won two prizes for Social Marketing Operator and Horseracing Operator.
Elsewhere, Punters.com.au retained its Affiliate of the Year gong, Lottoland was crowned the Australian market’s Rising Star, and Betgenius won the prize for Sports Betting Supplier.
The EGR Australia Awards, which is now in its fourth year, was held last night at the Shangri-La in Sydney and recognises the achievements of both B2C operators and service providers over the past 12 months.
