Sky Bet Italia MD departs following organisational overhaul
Giovanna D’Esposito leaves as part of the operator’s strategy to provide “closer integration” between UK and International business

Sky Bet Italia managing director (MD) Giovanna D’Esposito has left the business this week following a re-organisation of the operator’s International business, EGR Intel can reveal.
The departure of D’Esposito, who originally joined the firm in December 2015, will see Sky Betting & Gaming’s International business now report into group managing director Ted Moss.
The MD for the operator’s Germany-facing business, Jochen Weiner, will also now report into Moss following the changes as Sky Bet Deutschland continues its recruitment drive.
A spokesman for SB&G told EGR Intel: “We would like to thank Giovanna for her contribution towards getting Sky Bet Italia live and operational.
“We’ve now decided that the business will benefit from closer integration and support from our UK offices and management team.”
The spokesperson also said that Sky Bet Italia was recording “good customer numbers and taking market share”.
D’Esposito joined SB&G’s Rome office in 2015 after four years heading up Paddy Power’s Italian operation, and oversaw the launch of SB&G’s international debut with SkyBet.it.
The launch of the firm’s Italy-facing real-money sportsbook was preceded by the release of its popular free-to-play Super 6 product in the Italian market.
