Former William Hill sportsbook chief Stuart Weston joins Superbet
Weston, who left Hills earlier this month, will become the fourth former Hills senior staffer to join Romanian operator

Superbet has hired former William Hill sportsbook director Stuart Weston, the fourth ex-Hills man to join the operator in recent months, EGR Intel has learned.
Weston will be tasked with building and leading the operator’s new Gibraltar base, which will be focused on developing the burgeoning operator’s dot.com business.
However Weston, who left Hills earlier this month following two decades’ service, will be unable to begin his new role until September as he works out a period of gardening leave.
The appointment sees Weston become the fourth former Hills man to be hired by Superbet in as many months, with Jamie Hart, Peter Morgan and Finbarr Joy all sold on the ambitious vision set out by CEO Sacha Dragic.
“I had 20 good years at William Hill but I felt it was time to move on and to use everything I have learned on something brand new, and these kind of opportunities don’t come along often,” Weston told EGR Intel.
“And Sacha is an impressive character,” he added. “Progressive, ambitious, enthusiastic, runs his own business… he ticks a lot of boxes.
“Added to that, I have worked with Jamie, Finbarr and Peter before and they are some of the best people I’ve ever worked with, so the chance to work with them again was another plus.”
Weston will report into Hart, who joined Superbet as director of ecommerce in February having quit his Sun Bets-focused role at Tabcorp.
It’s expected Hart will be based out of Superbet’s new Leeds office, along with Joy and Morgan, while the firm also has a base in Malta which deals with the operator’s Central and Eastern European business.
Superbet is a major high street player in Romania, with approximately 600 retail stores. The operator has also amassed a large chunk of the regulated online market since debuting its online product in February 2016, shortly after the Romanian market went live.
The operator recently applied for a licence in Poland where it plans to build an online and retail presence, and in addition has its sights set on a number of other markets in Europe.
