SportPesa enters Italian market with RCS Gaming acquisition
Operator to rebrand the Playtech-powered GazzaBet.it to its SportPesa name
SportPesa has bought itself access to the Italian market with the acquisition of a 75% stake in Italy-licensed operator RCS Gaming.
Following the deal, SportPesa will rebrand RCS Gaming’s GazzaBet.it asset to its own name.
Gazzabet.it, which is powered by Playtech, commanded slightly less than 1% of the Italian sports betting market in 2016 with revenues of €800,000, and casino revenues of a similar size.
GIG joins lottery betting rush with Lottoland deal
Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) today became the third operator in recent weeks to announce the launch of a lottery betting product in partnership with Lottoland’s B2B arm.
The Malta-headquartered firm’s agreement with Lottoland Solutions will see GIG integrate the turnkey B2B service into its portfolio of consumer-facing sites, including guts.com, rizk.com and superlenny.com.
The B2C brands are all run on GIG’s in-house iGaming Cloud platform and will enable customers to place bets on the outcome of lottery draws from across the globe.
Interwetten plots Sweden launch
Interwetten has announced plans to launch in Sweden in September to help the firm rebound from a sluggish set of H1 results.
The Malta-licensed sportsbook said it plans to enter the Swedish market in September, with two new TV adverts being prepared to back the launch.
Sweden will rank as the company’s sixth core market after Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Greece.
GVC completes 12-month project to upgrade casino operations
GVC has completed a 12-month project to restructure its in-house casino operations which provide content for the Group’s bwin, PartyCasino, partypoker and Sportingbet brands.
The year-long project focused on converting GVC’s slots offering into a mobile-friendly HTML format, updating core table games and expanding the number and quality of games produced in-house.
The firm this morning reported “significant progress” in all three areas, with a 15% year-on-year increase in net gaming revenue in Q2 2017, as reported in the Group’s recent July trading update.
