Superbet secures Polish retail licence ahead of online launch
Superbet has taken a major step into the regulated Polish market after securing a retail betting licence ahead of a planned online launch next year.
The Romanian operator received confirmation of its licence approval from the regulator last week, with plans to open between 20 and 30 shops in the country within the next three to four weeks.
The firm also expects to have opened approximately 50 shops before the end of the year and to have secured a licence to operate online within the next six months.
The highly-taxed Polish online gambling market saw a host of operators withdraw from its borders earlier this year following regulatory changes, although several companies are currently in the process of applying for an online betting licence.

Lottoland has introduced its Insurance Linked Security (ILS) model to scratchcards, casino and instant win games.
The new model is called the Random and insured Number Generator (RiNG) and will allow customers to win large jackpots instantly, with the prizes insured through Lottoland’s insurance infrastructure.
The firm said the new system would allow other operators to offer its high jackpot instant win games, without fearing the big pay-outs.
The RiNG technology is currently live on two games, including the highest value scratchcard in Europe with a top prize of €10m.
