Betsson to launch Spain-facing sportsbook
Operator has signed a two-year agreement for BetConstruct to supply its betting platform

Betsson is planning to launch a Spain-facing sportsbook brand that will be powered by BetConstruct’s sports betting platform.
Speaking to investors on Friday, group CEO Pontus Lindwall said the operator had signed a two year contract with the supplier, which is already licensed to operate in Spain.
“In order to save time to market we are using that platform,” Lindwall said. “The market is important for us now.”
Betsson’s Betsafe, Betsson and Nordic Bet sportsbook brands are all powered by the operator’s in-house OBG platform.
Elsewhere, Lindwall said the operator would not be appealing its unsuccessful injunction against the Dutch gambling authority (KSA), as regulatory movements in Holland were in motion.
Lindwall said: “Now there is a government in place in Holland and we have received information that the process to get legislation in place is up and running.
“As long as we see a clear route to regulation then there is no need to go to court.
“The next step for us is to wait and to be a part of the process if we can. We will maintain discussions with the KSA through our lobby organisation.”
The Dutch remote gaming bill is expected to come into force in January 2019, as movement was picked up recently by the country’s new coalition government.
