Poll: Did bet365 or Sky Bet have the more impressive year?
Both operators recorded similar levels of growth for the 2016-17 financial year
Bet365 and Sky Betting & Gaming reported similar levels of growth last week with bet365 revenues up 39% for the 2016-17 financial year, while SB&G recorded a 38% increase in GGR.
But while the two firms have similarities, there are also some major differences.
365’s growth came from a massive base, making it all the more impressive, but the firm is known to be making hay in some grey markets.
By contrast Sky Betting & Gaming recorded entirely regulated revenues, and is taking market-share in the fiercely competitive UK market.
In an analyst’s note last week, Regulus Partners said both firms were benefiting from operating a high cost approach, in comparison to their publicly listed competitors.
“Similar to other highly successful private UK-based and long-term businesses Sky B&G and Gamesys, bet365 is increasingly demonstrating that in the long run you get what you pay for.”
Regulus deemed SB&G “the second most successful brand after bet365”, claiming the Leeds-based firm was now catching up in terms of revenues.
With this in mind this week we’re asking who has had more success this financial year, the Stoke-headquarted bet365 or Sky Betting & Gaming?
