Italian online sports betting revenues up 59% in 2017
Bet365 maintains its number one position in the Italian online sports betting market for 2017 ahead of SKS365 and SNAITECH

Italian online sports betting revenues reached an all-time high of €550.6m in 2017 after rising 59.4% year-on-year.
The sector brought in €5.6bn worth of online sports bets, according to Italian outlet agimeg, with bet365 leading the market share at 17.4%.
Domestic competitors SKS365 came in second with 12%, while SNAITECH (9.5%), Eurobet (9.3%) and Sisal (7.8%) completed the top five.
These operators could face stiffer competition next year after Italian gaming authorities invited the applications of 120 further online gaming licences across all verticals.
Football remains the major betting sport in the country, accounting for 75% of all online sports bets.
However, that figure has decreased from 92% ten years ago thanks to a rise in the popularity of betting on tennis, basketball and volleyball.
Football’s domination of the Italian online betting market could reduce even further next year, with horseracing betting expected to see an uptick after a new tax law was passed for the sector in 2018.
