Matchbook goes 0% commission on racing through Cheltenham Festival
Exchange operator takes aim at the market leader with new offer under the tagline: “It’s time to bet fair”

Matchbook has become the latest exchange to slash its commission rates, announcing today it is charging 0% commission on all horseracing bets until 19 March.
The offer, which comes just weeks after Betdaq became a 2% exchange, means Matchbook will be commission-free on all races at the Cheltenham festival.
The firm was unequivocal about its ambitions to take on the market leader with the offer, launching it under the tagline: “It’s time to bet fair”.
“Matchbook has always championed value for our customers, which is why we’ve always maintained the lowest commission rate in the industry,” Neil Campbell, Matchbook director of marketing, said.
“And as we approach Cheltenham we wanted to showcase our best-in-class horse racing product with an amazing 0% deal.”
The firm also unveiled an in-running racing product this week, putting it on par with Betfair, and has been focusing on its racing product over the last year.
Back in August it partnered with an undisclosed investor, understood to be a well-known racing syndicate, to help boost liquidity
“Our horseracing prices and liquidity can rival anyone in the industry and we want exchange customers who have never tried us to find out how good Matchbook is,” Campbell said.
“We know horse racing bettors are used to traditional sportsbooks, so we’re making it as valuable as possible for you to make the switch.
“And we’d love to see more of these special offers from our rivals too as we’d love as many bettors as possible to find out why exchange betting is the future.”
The increasing competition for Betfair saw 52% of EGR readers say the market leader was “vulnerable” in a recent poll.
