
Lottomatica opens Scratch and Win innovation contest
Italian operator partners with marketing agency Digital360 to launch online lottery innovation competition


Lottomatica has launched an innovation contest to revamp its online Scratch and Win lottery games.
The Italian operator has invited developers, start-ups, technology providers, agencies and creative professionals to revamp the instant win game.
The winning idea could be devoted further for launch by Lottomatica, and the winning team will receive a three-day trip to Boston to visit the US headquarters of Lottomatica’s parent company, IGT.
Lottomatica said it is looking for new service concepts, improved user experience features and gaming solutions that use innovative technologies like blockchain.
Lottomatica’s Simone Cantagallo said: “Innovation is a pillar in a mature market like gambling.
“We are moving towards innovation through internal initiatives involving our employees and through external partnerships with prestigious organisations to find out new ideas.
“We’re opening ourselves up to third parties because we’re trying to capture the expectations and ideas of segments of the population, like Millennials, to understand the new social trends.”
Submissions are open until 31 May.
