Kindred speeds up ID process with Belgian app integration
Operator partners with mobile app itsme to speed up identification process and fight against fraud

Kindred Group has signed a cooperative deal with a free mobile identification app called itsme to speed up the identification process and fight against fraud.
Kindred, which will use the app initially for Belgian customers, claims to be the first online gambling operator to work with the solution.
Itsme is a mobile identification app that enables customers to identify themselves through a unique five-digit code or fingerprint.
Kindred said it hopes itsme will provide a faster more secure way of validating customer identities which is often a complex and time-consuming process, while also “maximising player safety”.
The technology will be integrated into Kindred’s Belgian platform to allow for simpler registration on its www.unibet.be website with the unique itsme code.
Dennis Mariën, Kindred’s Belgium country manager said: “We are delighted to be the first operator to start working with itsme.
“Kindred values the best possible protection of its customers and strives to offer a safe and responsible gambling platform.
“The integration of tools such as the itsme app, which ensures reliable, correct and user-friendly identification of the customer, is a crucial part of this journey.
“Moreover, a comprehensive identification process will also help in the fight against fraud,” he added.
Kindred Group won a court case in Belgium in March that absolved online gambling operators of paying a 21% VAT tax.
