GentingBet eyes European expansion with Spain licence
Online MD Jeremy Taylor wants GentingBet to go live in the market by Q4 2019

GentingBet has applied for a casino and sports betting licence in Spain and is planning to go live in the market by the end of 2019, the operator announced Monday.
GentingBet, the sportsbook brand of casino giant Genting Group, has taken advantage of the one-year licensing window offered to operators by Spanish regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DJOJ).
The operator’s Online MD Jeremy Taylor said the brand would translate well in the market because “gambling is such an important part of Spanish culture”.

“The country is of significant size, has one of the highest per capita spend in Europe and has consistently grown during the past 10 years or so,” said Taylor.
“Genting is a huge global business with a significant UK casino estate and has big ambitions for its mobile, live casino and sportsbook products.
“We believe GentingBet’s wonderful heritage, social responsibility focus, live casino expertise and comprehensive betting and gaming suite will resonate well in Spain.
“Having recently opened our new Interactive headquarters in Malta, we are now perfectly placed to capitalise on the opportunity that the European online market presents,” he added.
Taylor joined Genting in August 2018 from Betsson and was made responsible for developing the operator’s portfolio of online brands.
Genting Group launched its first online casino back in 2008, while the FSB-powered GentingBet sportsbook went live in 2013.
