Bet365 launches in Mexico
Online betting operator partners with local media firm TV Azteca

Bet365 has officially launched in Mexico in partnership with local media operator TV Azteca.
The bet365.mx site is licensed by the Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos (DGJS), a division of the Mexican Ministry of the Interior (SEGOB), which regulates gambling in Mexico.
TV Azteca received a 25-year gambling licence from DGJS in September which allowed it to operate a sole land-based casino and a single online gambling site.
In November, the licence was amended to allow TV Azteca to operate either “individually or with one or more operators”.
This was later amended to specifically identify the bet365.mx domain as TV Azteca’s preferred site.
TV Azteca is Mexico’s second largest media firm and recently inked a deal to acquire a $5m stake in Allied Esports with the aim of new eSports digital channel and a permanent eSports competition venue in Mexico.
The launch is the latest sign of bet365’s LatAm ambitions after the firm recently submitted its application for an online gaming and sports betting licence in Buenos Aries, in partnership with local operator Pasteko.
However, none of the seven BA licences available have yet been awarded with almost 20 operators registering their interest with the local regulator over the last month.
