
Bet365 retains top spot in Italy’s online sports betting rankings
Betting giant records monthly turnover of €184m for December as market hits €7bn during 2019


Bet365 has topped the rankings for Italy’s online sports betting market in December, with the Stoke-headquartered operator’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) reaching €12.3m for the month.
Playtech-owned operator Snaitech came in second with €12.1m, beating rival firm SKS365 which generated GGR of €10.9m during the period.
Meanwhile, bet365 continued its dominance of the turnover rankings, raking in €184m on a margin of 6.7% and beating its closest competitor, Eurobet, which turned over €77m.
Bet365 accrued 26% of market share as a percentage of turnover in December, once again ahead of Eurobet and Snaitech with 10% each, while Sisal (8.9%) and SKS365 (8.4%) rounded out the top four.
Overall GGR for Italy’s 18 leading online betting operators totalled €83.3m last month, nearly €28m above November’s figures.
Bet365 retained its spot as Italy’s biggest online betting firm during the whole of 2019, generating total GGR of €113m. SKS365 was the runner up, accruing €94.1m in revenue, ahead of Snaitech (€88.2m) and Eurobet (€71.5m).
Bet365 was also the largest operator in terms of market share last year, accounting for turnover of €2.2bn and a market share as a percentage of turnover of 29%.
Eurobet came in second, generating turnover of €711m and market share as a percentage of turnover of 9%. Snaitech generated turnover of €708m and market share as a percentage of turnover 9% during the period.
SKS365 rounded out the top-four operators during 2019, achieving turnover of €675m and market share as a percentage of turnover of 8%.
Overall GGR for Italy’s 18 biggest online betting operators totalled €668m, with total operator turnover hitting €7.1bn.
