Guts and Kaboo shut down as Betsson’s UK exit strategy accelerates
Only Rizk remains as former GiG B2C brands close to UK customers from 10 December

Betsson Group’s scale-back of UK operations is picking up pace with Guts and Kaboo to close to customers from 10 December.
Guts punters were emailed this week regarding the site going offline as players were urged to withdraw their funds by 5 January 2021.
New deposits will be prohibited from 9 December, with access to games on the Guts casino and poker sites also cut off from that date.
All outstanding bets placed before 17 November will be credited as winners, while bets placed between 17-24 November on events prior to 10 December will also be honoured.
Bets placed between 17-24 November on events after 10 December have been refunded.
EGR understands Kaboo customers have been sent a similar email explaining closure dates and withdrawal procedures.
The pull-out plan was first announced by Betsson in October as part of a drive to increase efficiency in UK operations and divert investment to more profitable markets.
Betsson Group previously operated four UK licences on three different platforms, but surrendered three of those licences to the Gambling Commission (UKGC).
At least one of those licences was under review by the UKGC.
At the time, the firm cited “significant changes” to the UK regulatory environment, which would have required unsustainable investments in marketing, compliance and technology.
Brands shut down as part of the withdrawal include CasinoEuro, Betsson, Betsafe, SuperCasino, LiveRoulette, Jackpot247 and RaceBets.
The closure of Guts and Kaboo will leave Rizk as the last remaining Betsson brand in the UK.
The brands departing the UK will be retained in the operator’s portfolio for use in other markets across Europe.
