Former Sky Betting & Gaming finance director joins XLMedia as CFO
Caroline Ackroyd will return to the online gambling industry for the first time in three years after leaving Jaywing PLC

XLMedia has recruited former Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) finance director Caroline Ackroyd as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
Ackroyd, who boasts significant experience within the gaming and leisure sector alongside considerable capital market and investor relations expertise, will join the affiliate following the completion of her six-month notice period at AIM-listed marketing firm Jaywing.
She will return to the online gambling industry for the first time since November 2018, when she departed the role of director of commercial finance at Leeds-based SBG.
Prior to that, she also worked as a finance director at Ladbrokes Coral from Gibraltar.
Rowan Ellis, who is currently interim CFO of XLMedia following the departure of Iain Balchin, will revert to his role as a financial consultant to the business before handing over to Ackroyd.
XLMedia CEO Stuart Simms said: “I am excited to welcome Caroline, a highly experienced CFO, to XLMedia’s leadership team and board.
“Her deep understanding and intimate knowledge of our sector offers tangible value and insights, especially in light of the dramatic progress we are delivering in US sports,” he added.
