UKGC seeks operator feedback on licensing, compliance and enforcement procedures
The consultation, which is open until 9 February 2022, looks to build on the regulator’s ‘Statement of Principles’

The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has launched a new consultation requesting feedback on its licensing, compliance and enforcement policy procedures.
The consultation, which is open until 9 February 2022, aims to build on the UKGC’s ‘Statement of Principles’ which focuses on risk assessment, licensing operators and key personnel, compliance activities, and regulatory and criminal enforcement.
The feedback will not only evaluate the ongoing principles, but it will also ensure transparency of the policies and that these are up to date for operators.
“We amend the policy from time to time to ensure that it remains clear to operators and other stakeholders, transparent and up to date,” the UKGC stated.
In addition, the commission is also seeking licensed operators’ views to make changes to its licensing, compliance and enforcement policy, which was last amended in 2017.
The regulator’s prime consultation feedback from operators will focus on how will the UKGC will position itself on products which appear to require dual regulation following the Football Index fiasco.
Moreover, the UKGC will also look for ways to clarify some of its requirements relating to operating and personal licences.
The proposed changes will be aimed at incorporating the regulator’s new special measures approach and to reflect a number of changes to licence review, suspension and regulatory settlement processes.
