Optimove iGaming Pulse Report: Monthly US sports revenue up 112% YoY
In a monthly column, Optimove looks at how casino and sports KPIs performed in November 2021

This month, two figures caught our attention: monthly net sports gaming revenue per player and monthly casino revenue per player showing significant spikes of 37% and 31% YoY respectively and similar behaviour MoM. A quick drilldown into both shows this jump most likely originated in the US.
After an autumn lull, the graphs below show a return to August form and a jump of 112% YoY in monthly net gaming revenue per player and 106% YoY in monthly casino revenue per player.
It might have something to do with the ever-expanding US gaming market. Thirty-two states have legalised sports betting in the US, but only 18 have legalised mobile wagering. As new states legalise betting and gambling and roll out more playing options for players in recent months – Florida, Connecticut, Louisiana, Washington and Wisconsin, to name a few – activity shows an understandable increase. Market penetration usually translates to a massive advertising blitz and early-days excitement that might explain the increased activity. As more states will allow betting in 2022, it’s going to be pretty exciting to follow.
