Matchbook launches horseracing product with Goodwood sponsorship
Exchange operator says it spent the last 18 months developing an industry-leading racing platform

Matchbook has become the official betting partner of the Goodwood Festival to mark the launch of horseracing on its betting exchange.
The exchange operator is sponsoring five races across the first three days of the festival as part of the deal, including the first race of the event, ‘The Matchbook Betting Exchange Stakes’.
“For years Matchbook has built a reputation of providing unparalleled value to sports betting customers, and adding horseracing is the obvious next evolution of that,” said Matchbook spokesperson Cian Nugent.
“Over the last 18 months, we have invested significantly in the development of an industry leading platform and now that we are ready to raise the gate on horseracing it seems only fitting that we choose an event with the pedigree of the Qatar Goodwood Festival to debut a much-improved experience for Matchbook customers.”
Matchbook will also have an on-course presence at Goodwood in the Lennox Enclosure, where it will provide betting tips and strategies, and a chance to watch a race from the Matchbook Hot Air Balloon.
Nugent added: “As a betting exchange, we have the unique advantage of winning when our customers win – not many people know this. Unlike most bookies, we will never restrict or close customers’ accounts if they win so we look forward to celebrating the festival’s winners, both on the racecourse and on our exchange.”
The launch of horseracing comes after a number of product changes to the Matchbook site this year, including a new microsite designed to inform and educate punters about smarter gambling and the mechanics of its exchange.
Matchbook also recently scaled its casino offer as part of a continuing product drive after launching NetEnt’s casino games portfolio on its existing proprietary platform.
