Sky Betting & Gaming director of technology exits
Mark Joyce announces his departure from Flutter-owned operator after just over six years with the firm

Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) director of technology Mark Joyce has left the bookmaker after just over six years.
Joyce held three roles in his time at the Leeds-based firm, originally joining as head of delivery for the gaming division in July 2016.
He was promoted to delivery director in July 2019 before becoming director of technology for Sky Bet in November 2020.
In his role as director of technology, Joyce managed 21 teams and was responsible for delivery and operations. Joyce also helped create and deliver the technology strategy for Sky Bet and the wider Flutter UK and Ireland tech strategy.
Reflecting on his decision to leave the firm, Joyce said: “This week, I said goodbye to my amazing colleagues at Sky Betting & Gaming. To say this company has been an incredible chapter in my life would be an understatement. The people who I’ve had the privilege to work alongside have shaped me both professionally and personally, and I’m a better person for knowing you all.
“I hope I gave it everything; there’s always so much more you wish you’d have done, but I’ll reflect on my time with the best memories and will take the lessons forward to try and be better than I was yesterday.
“I’m excited for the future and open to what that might be, and I hope if it’s anything like the past six years, there will be many more great moments ahead,” he concluded.
This is the third major departure at SBG in two months, as last month saw sports managing director Steven Monaghan step down after almost eight years with the company.
On Friday, SBG’s head of gambling, Ben Wright, announced his departure from the bookmaker after almost 15 years.
Elsewhere, EGR understands that Flutter Entertainment has started the consultation process, which involves as many as 200 voluntary staff redundancies across its UK & Ireland business.
The redundancies come as part of measures that the operator is taking to improve efficiency across the SBG arm via further integration into the wider Flutter group.
