Paddy Power launches prepaid contactless payment card
Cash Card PPlus gives punters instant access to online winnings and can be used in-store and online

Paddy Power has launched a new contactless payment card allowing customers to pay for items in shops and online with their betting account balance.
Cash Card PPlus is designed to give customers instant access to their online winnings which can typically take up to three days to be deposited.
The prepaid MasterCard also enables customers to access cash from their online wagering account from any ATM in the UK where MasterCard is accepted.
“We’ve all experienced those glorious punting weekends,” said the firm in a blog post introducing the Cash Card PPlus. “You’ve just clicked a cheeky little 3.00pm accumulator on the Premier League, your gee-gee has romped home in the feature race at Doncaster, or your golfer has swept into a three-shot lead with four holes to play.
“There is no better feeling. You’re on cloud nine. Friends, family members and strangers in the street are running over to congratulate you. But there’s a problem. Because you punted online you have to wait 2-3 working days to get your hands on that sweet cash.
“Who is going to pay for all the celebratory pizza and beers?
“Luckily the tech wizards in Power Tower are on hand with the brand new Cash Card PPlus. This is your very own Paddy Power Card which will allow you to withdraw from the ATM, make purchases online and in shops straight from your Paddy Power account. Now you can hit the tiles and trip the lights fandango as soon as you bag a winner.”
Customers looking to get a card can sign up online through their existing account, although they will have to pass a number of KYC controls.
The launch of Cash Card PPlus comes after William Hill unveiled its own cash card last year which was initially aimed at VIP customers with only 10,000 customers offered one at the time.
The card also scooped the prize for Innovation of the Year at the 2015 eGaming Review Marketing and Innovation Awards.
