Betgenius merges with SportingPulse to create Genius Sports
Combined brand launches today as a global sports data distribution and commercialisation operation

Betgenius has undergone a merger with data management firm SportingPulse with the enlarged firm this morning rebranding to Genius Sports.
The deal brings together Betgenius’ expertise in sportsbook management and SportingPulse’s experience in sports data collection and distribution, a combination Genius Sports said would create a “powerhouse in the sports and betting data sectors”.
Mark Locke, co-founder of Betgenius and now CEO of Genius Sports, described the merger as a “perfect match” and said the deal would enable the firm to “exploit the multi-billion dollar opportunities opening up in the US, China and India”.
Betgenius, which provides sports betting services to the likes of bet365, Paddy Power Betfair, Sky Betting & Gaming and Betsson, also works closely with governing bodies through its data management services and Sports Integrity Monitor business.
And Locke said the addition of Australia-based SportingPulse, which is a long-term data management partner of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), would enable Genius Sports to position itself as a “one-stop shop” for sports bodies.
“SportingPulse has a great pedigree in sports and good technology so a combination of that, our Sports Integrity Monitor product and the ability to commercialise data in an official and transparent manner in the sports betting industry, provides us with a very good platform to facility future growth,” Locke said.
“There are also opportunities in emerging markets, such as the US, where sports are looking to better understand the opportunities that can be provided by betting and also some of the risks and I believe we are well placed with our technology to help them do that,” he added.
Following the merger, Genius Sports is comprised of approximately 750 staff across 10 offices worldwide, including its London headquarters.
SportingPulse founder Nick Maywald has taken on the role of CCO for Genius Sports while Jack Davison has become MD of Betgenius
