Operator will fund major new US gambling habits survey

GVC has joined the US National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and its President’s Circle initiative, funding a major new study into gambling habits in the US.
GVC will fund the creation of ‘The National Survey of Gambling in America’ a new study which aims to identify the prevalence of gambling within the US, establish a baseline for the levels of problem gambling behaviour with the eventual aim of increasing understanding on the issue.
GVC’s CEO Kenneth Alexander said: “We are delighted to become a member of NCPG supporting the invaluable work that they undertake in advocating on problem gambling issues.
“Joining the NCPG’s President’s Circle reinforces our commitment to ensure that GVC promotes the highest standards of responsible gaming while ensuring our customers can enjoy our products in a safe environment.”
GVC has been active in the US of late, concluding a $200m JV deal to create a sports betting business in partnership with MGM Resorts in July.
As a part of its membership of the NCPG, the operator will support the NCPG’s advocacy, awareness and assistance based initiatives which aim to promote responsible gambling behaviour, while also addressing the issue of problem gambling.
The President’s Circle initiative is part of the NCPG’s efforts in this area and aims to assist problem gamblers and their families.
Keith Whyte, NCPG Executive Director, added: “We warmly welcome GVC to the President’s circle. As a global leader in online gaming, GVC’s experience and operational excellence are a huge asset to NCPG and we look forward to working with them to develop and affirm national standards in responsible gaming.”
