
Parimatch among new sites blocked by Russian telcoms watchdog
11,830 gambling sites blocked by Russian regulator in April


Websites belonging to Parimatch were among almost 12,000 gambling sites blocked by Roskomnadzor in April, according to latest data from the Russian telecommunications regulator.
Over 696 websites belonging to Parimatch were blocked while 1,371 so-called “mirror” versions of sites belonging to Curacao-licenced operator Fonbet were included in the regulators blocked sites list.
Domains belonging to fellow European operators 1xBet and Marathonbet were also blocked by the regulator, with 592 sites belonging to 1xBet and 374 Marathonbet sites being blocked during April.
Operators Leonbets, Winline, Liga Stavok, Olimp, Betcity and Baltbet were also on the receiving end of blocks from the regulator during April.
Roskomnadzor continues to enforce a tough regulatory line against operators, with 7,589 separate online casino, online lottery and poker room domains all being blocked by the regulator in April.
In addition, 47 websites featuring content concerning sports betting, casinos and slot machines were also blocked during the month.
In August, Roskomnadzor announced tough new measures aimed at blocking more gambling related sites and transactions belonging to gambling sites by Russian banks.
