Spanish associations ink responsible gambling partnership deal
Jdigital and Fejar team up on new helpline and information service for consumers

Spanish trade association Jdigital and the Spanish Federation of Rehabilitated Gamblers (Fejar) have announced an RG-led partnership which will oversee the creation of Spain’s first helpline for players.
The new 900 helpline will be available to Spanish players 24/7 and will be managed directly by Fejar.
Calls will be answered by trained specialists in the treatment of gambling disorders. Fejar experts will assess whether the individual only needs information or whether they should be referred to the nearest clinic to evaluate their behaviour or receive treatment.
As part of this commitment, eight operators associated with Jdigital including Entain, Flutter Entertainment and Sisal will include the helpline number on their Spanish-facing websites.
The new 900 line will provide information on responsible gambling. It will also offer information on the legal limits that exist daily, weekly or monthly when placing bets and, if necessary, on the self-exclusion avenues players can take if they feel out of control.
In addition, Fejar will report the volume of calls received by the line on a bi-annual basis in order to understand the problems faced by at-risk Spanish gamblers.
“We are very proud of joining forces with Fejar in the fight against problematic gambling in Spain,” Jdigital director general Andrea Vota said.
“The collaboration fits perfectly with Jdigital’s strong commitment with online gambling users and society in general, as well as with our goal of promoting safe and responsible environments for online gambling activity as a responsible form of entertainment,” Vota added.
The partnership conforms with the Royal Decree on Commercial Communications of Gambling Activities (RDCC).
According to article 30 of the RDCC, gambling operators must create direct links to information services on safer gambling.
To meet with this clause, links must be placed in a spot which is clearly visible on operator websites, with firms required to provide links to both treatment organisations and the regulator (DGOJ).
