Lotto NZ deploys Neccton AI mentor software to boost player protection
Austrian-based Neccton won the contract through a public tender process to provide player protection software to the lottery body

The New Zealand Lottery Commission (Lotto NZ) has integrated Neccton’s mentor software to reinforce its player protection mechanisms.
The commission will implement Neccton’s player behaviour analysis tool that alerts the operator and contacts players who demonstrate concerning gambling traits.
Neccton’s mentor software is an AI-based solution that analyses player behaviour in real-time to prevent problem gambling habits.
The software will notify Lotto NZ players when their deposit frequency increases significantly and provide individual feedback to keep them safe from gambling harm.
“We are always very proud when well-established organisations use our tools to help their players,” said Dr Michael Auer, director at Neccton.
Auer further added: “Our reach is increasing internationally as our reputation grows, and operators of all kinds are recognising the value of our software, and the validity of our approach to player protection, which we believe is unique.”
The software is already being used to monitor players in several countries such as the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Norway, Finland and Canada.
