New website launches to curb illegal Greek gambling networks
EEEP-backed service will collect information to prevent the conduct of illegal games of chance

The Gaming Supervision and Control Commission in Greece (EEEP) has announced that it will be offering a new digital service to combat the provision of illegal gambling through the website, whistlers.gamingcommission.gov.gr.
Via the website, players will have the option to provide information – either anonymously or by name – on five matters concerning the organisation and conduct of illegal games of chance, with the EEEP then using this data to take any necessary actions to limit them.
The five primary areas of concern for the whistlers website are illegal betting sites, unlicensed affiliate websites, illegal gambling apps, illegal land-based gambling venues and general points concerning the operation of illegal games of chance. Any individuals with information regarding any of these five issues are being encouraged to come forward and share their information with the EEEP.
If an individual suspects illegal gambling activity is being conducted in the country but wishes to verify their concerns before submitting them online, they have the option to consult the register of licensed operators that is currently available on the Greek Gaming Commission’s website.
This list provides details of all individuals and entities who have been granted a licence to conduct games of chance in Greece, enabling concerned parties to quickly identify those who are operating illegally.
Through these two resources, the EEEP hopes that more individuals will join the fight against illegal gambling by providing information that will protect vulnerable players and safeguard the public interest.
