Gamesys rolls the dice with Monopoly-themed casino
Supplier goes live with first new B2C offering in the UK since selling its Jackpotjoy brand to Intertain last year
Gamesys has launched an online casino based on the popular board game Monopoly, the company’s first B2C offering since it sold its Jackpotjoy bingo brand to Intertain last year.
The London-based firm has teamed-up with Scientific Games to launch MonopolyCasino.com in the UK, with the mobile-focused product offering a range of Monopoly-themed casino and slots games.
The site also includes classic SciGames titles Rainbow Riches and Raging Rhino, plus exclusive Gamesys-developed titles Monopoly Rising Riches, Monopoly Paradise Mansion and Monopoly Free Parking.
Gamesys marking director Simon Mizzi said he was delighted to have teamed up with Scientific Games to launch the new site.
“[Monopoly] has been such a strong and successful brand within egaming for years and the gameplay lends itself perfectly to a truly immersive and differentiated gaming experience, which is exactly what Gamesys is all about,” he added.
The launch of MonopolyCasino.com marks Gamesys’ first new launch in the UK market after selling its Jackpotjoy, Starspins and Botemania brands to Intertain for ?423m in February last year.
Under the deal, Gamesys is not allowed to launch new B2C bingo brands and CEO Lee Fenton previously told eGaming Review the firm had no plans to re-enter the bingo sector at this time.
The launch comes after Gamesys recently suffered a blow to its B2B business after Playtech announced it had reached an agreement with News UK to take over running of its Sun Bingo and Fabulous Bingo sites.
