BoyleSports rejigs digital team with senior Paddys hire
Patrick Thornton takes up new head of digital revenues role following departure of gaming chief Fraser Linklater

BoyleSports has appointed Paddy Power head of poker Patrick Thornton to the newly created role of head of digital revenues, eGaming Review has learned.
Thornton, who joined BoyleSports in the past few weeks, will be based at the operator’s Dundalk headquarters where he will have broad responsibility for the firm’s remote gaming and sportsbook businesses.
The hire of Thornton comes after head of gaming Fraser Linklater left BoyleSports earlier this year following the closure of its London office. While not a direct replacement, Thornton will assume many of Linklater’s previous responsibilities.
“I am delighted to welcome Patrick Thornton to BoyleSports who I’m sure will be very successful in his new role, helping to further grow our rapidly expanding digital business,” Brendan Hughes, BoyleSports commercial director, told eGR.
“Patrick comes to us with a strong customer-focused mind-set coupled with commercial acumen, and will be largely responsible for driving product innovation and operational effectiveness in our online channels,” he added.
BoyleSports has made a number of senior hires to its digital team of late, including former NordicBet MD Neill Garfield as CMO and Mfuse founder Marcus Wareham as head of product marketing.
In addition, last month eGR revealed Ladbrokes head of football David Burgin had quit the firm in order to become head of trading at BoyleSports although isn’t expected to begin his new role until the New Year.
