India’s Mobile Premier League to launch in US
DFS giant looks to get in on the act stateside as it launches an initial nine titles across iOS and Android apps

Asia’s largest daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) has made its first inroads into the US market with the launch of its app.
The Indian gaming giant boasts more than 81 million users across the subcontinent and Indonesia and is now looking to crack the US after an impressive growth period having been established in 2018.
The MPL app will be available for download across iOS and Android devices and will offer both free-to-play and cash tournaments across nine games initially, with more content set to be added in the future.
Players entering cash tournaments can play for low minimums ranging from $0.60 to $6, with head-to-head matchups being determined by the MPL’s proprietary, player matching technology.
Players entering cash tournaments must also be at least 18 years of age.
MPL has raised $225.5m to date in funding from investors including Sequoia Capital, Founders Circle and Composite Capital, with the firm valued at $945m.
Sai Srinivas, MPL CEO, said: “It is a historic moment for MPL as we launch in the US and continue to grow our presence around the world.
“With our proven success in India and Indonesia, combined with the soaring popularity of casual real-money gaming in the US, we look forward to providing millions of players in the US with a safe, fair and incredible gaming experience.”
