Catena Media inks major US media partnership with Advance Local
Stockholm-listed affiliate puts pen to paper on agreement to provide sports betting and casino content to NJ.com

Catena Media has secured its first large media agreement in North America after inking a multi-year partnership with US media firm Advance Local.
The agreement will see Catena provide online casino and sports betting content to Advance Local, which owns the NJ.com news and information website.
The supplied content, written by Catena Media’s in-house writers, will inform NJ.com readers about trends and opportunities in US online sports betting and igaming, as well as promoting a responsible gambling culture.
The deal will operate on a revenue-share model between the two parties.
Catena Media noted it anticipated the deal to be earnings-enhancing from late Q3 2022.
Dustin Gouker, Catena Media VP of North American content operations, said: “This is a forward-looking opportunity for Catena Media, allowing our sports betting experts to engage directly with a broader audience in the New Jersey market and nationally.
“Our goal is to help readers become more informed with sports betting and online casino products and to help promote a safer and more productive gaming culture.”
Howard Kamen, Advance Local VP of sports betting and igaming, added: “Sports betting and online casino gaming are rapidly evolving in New Jersey and beyond, and this partnership with Catena Media is a fantastic way for us to engage our readers with top-notch content and help them to better understand the landscape.”
Catena Media originally entered New Jersey in 2017, which was the earliest adopter of online casino in the US.
Catena Media currently deploys several brands in the US such as Legal Sports Report and PlayUSA while state-specific sites deploying the ‘Play’ prefix have helped push the firm to the top of the pile ahead of other competitors.
