Oddschecker unveils on-site betting functionality

Beta version of new desktop website enables customers to place bets on the Oddschecker site for the first time
Oddschecker has launched an upgrade of its desktop product featuring a new design and integrated betting functionality which allows customers to place bets without leaving the odds comparison site for the first time.
The beta version of the sports betting affiliateâs website has been in development for several months and will initially run alongside its main web product, enabling the firm to test new ideas and features.
On-site betting functionality is already available on Oddscheckerâs mobile products, however desktop players were previously referred to bookmakersâ websites when clicking through the price comparison site.
The feature is currently available for select bookmakers including bet365, Ladbrokes, Sky Bet and Coral.
The new site also includes improved search and navigation functionality designed to help customers find relevant events, prices and bets much faster, while Oddschecker is also planning to back the product with a new marketing campaign at a later date.
Andrew Denning, head of product at Oddschecker, told eGR Digital Marketing he was confident the new features would vastly increase the usability of the site after conducting a comprehensive player research study.
âOddschecker is aiming to make some big strides over the next six to 12 months, we want our products to be synonymous with not just odds comparison, but also the gambling industry as a whole,â Denning said.
âMore importantly, we want to be associated with easy to use, engaging and customer centric products,â he added.
Oddschecker also plans to update the main interface of the desktop site and revamp its mobile products over the next six months.
âA large part of this has been undertaking a 12-week study in the gambling industry to understand user behaviours, needs and desires,â Denning said.
âThis has formed the foundation of how weâll be updating and evolving our products into the future.â
