Betway strikes six-figure eSports sponsorship deal
Operator continues its investment in eSports as becomes the new shirt sponsor of Ninjas in Pyjamas team

Betway has become one of the first UK-based bookmakers to invest in an eSports team after signing a six-figure deal to sponsor the Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP).
The agreement sees the operator’s logo emblazoned on the Sweden-based team’s shirt, as well as securing content usage rights, on-site branding at NiP’s gaming house and full player access.
Betway has been a long-term backer of eSports and became one of the first egaming operators to launch a dedicated betting microsite for the vertical.
“We are delighted to join forces with Ninjas in Pyjamas, a team with an unrivalled history of success in eSports that is hugely popular the world over,” Anthony Werkman, Betway marketing director, said.
“We have put a special focus on our eSports offering over the past few years by launching the first eSports specific microsite and content channels. Our agreement with NiP is yet another first and cements our position as the worldâs leading eSports bookmaker,” added Werkman.
Hicham Chahine, CEO of Ninjas in Pyjamas, said: “We are thrilled with the opportunity to work closely with the leading eSports betting company and are certain the partnership will allow us to continue to grow our legacy to give our millions of fans around the world unforgettable experiences they will remember for a lifetime.”
Earlier this year, Betway extended its partnership with West Ham United as the Premier League club’s principal partner until 2020.
Also this month, the operator agreed a three-year deal to become R.S.C. Anderlecht’s official betting partner.
