Five minutes with... Katy Stafford of CherryAffiliates
This month's quickfire Q&A comes courtesy of CherryAffiliates' head of affiliates

Q: Describe what it is like to work for Cherry in three words
A: Fun, hard-working and rewarding.
Q: What makes CherryAffiliates a great partner for affiliates?
A: We are fair and trustworthy, we advocate for affiliate marketing, and we are flexible in the deals we offer.
Q: What changes have you made to CherryAffiliates recently?
A: We’ve made a lot of new back office developments, improving our proprietary software, and we’ve also recently launched a social media strategy including vlogs etc.
Q: What makes a good affiliate manager?
A: They must be flexible and a good communicator. It is also important to build strong relationships.
Q: If you could work for any other business, what would it be?
A: I studied Forensic Psychology, so it would probably be working in that field with youth offenders.
Q: What is your favourite way to relax?
A: Socialising with friends. And occasionally binge-watching a TV show with a glass of wine.
Q: What is your favourite book?
A: Shantaram.
Q: What is top of your bucket list?
A: I would love to travel to India one day.
Q: If you could have any super power for a day, what would it be and why?
A: Being able to fly would be cool. Or the power to click my fingers and appear anywhere in the world.
Q: Which one place would you most like to visit and why?
A: Definitely India, and specifically Mumbai.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
A: Never give up.
Q: Who is your business idol?
A: The gaming industry is quite male dominated, so any strong female succeeding in this sector.
Q: Which three people would you invite to your dream dinner party?
A: Gregory David Roberts and Jane Austen as they are my favourite writers, and Henry VIII as I am a bit of a history buff and reckon he would be super interesting.
I first joined the gaming industry in 2005, working for InterCasino/CryptoLogic. Initially I was working on the financial support, office manager and HR side of things. In 2009, it was announced we would be moving to Malta, so I joined the affiliates team, and by 2010 I was head of affiliates at InterPartners. I joined Cherry in 2014 as head of affiliates, also in Malta, and continue to develop that side of the business.
