PepsiCo sparkling water brand returns to the Super Bowl with a new TV ad after a six-year gap

Sparkling water brand SodaStream returns to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2014 with a 74-second TV spot ahead of the big game this Sunday.
The new TV ad, which takes viewers on a journey to find water on Mars, will air immediately prior to the halftime show and has been directed by Academy Award-nominated film director Bryan Buckley, a Super Bowl veteran who has directed more than 60 game commercials.
Guest stars in the TV ad include popular American scientist Bill Nye, alongside Alyssa Carson, the youngest Astronaut training to be part of the first manned mission to Mars.

Eyal Shohat, CEO of SodaStream, said: “For over a decade now, SodaStream has been known for its disruptive communication approach and positive environmental impact. This is a great opportunity for us to reach a huge audience and remind consumers that SodaStream is – first and foremost – the future of sparkling water, and also the best way to stay hydrated and avoid single-use plastic waste. In portraying a future, we hope won’t become reality with a touch of humour and a simple solution, it’s hoped the message makes a real impact.”
