
Svenska Spel to sponsor Swedish FA Cup
State gambling firm to sponsor both the men’s and women’s domestic cup competition


Svenska Spel has extended and expanded its sponsorship relationship with the Swedish Football Association.
The new agreement, which runs to the end of the 2020-21 Swedish football season, will see Svenska Spel sponsor the men’s and women’s versions of Swedish domestic cup competition – the Svenska Cupen.
Svenska Spel has been a long-term sponsor of the Swedish FA and will now aim to develop and raise the status of both the men’s and women’s Svenska Cupen.
Patrik Hofbauer, president and chief executive of Svenska Spel, said: “For us, it is also important to be able to participate and contribute to the development of football players at all levels and of both genders. That is why the Swedish Cup, which is so important for both men’s and women’s teams, feels like the right priority.”
Håkan Sjöstrand, secretary general of the Swedish Football Association, added: “We are happy and proud that our biggest partner, Svenska Spel, wants to develop and be part of the Svenska Cupen format.”
